Golden rules for avoiding wound infection

Growing up, I was always the kid who walked without looking at the road. Frequent falls and scrapes seemed to become a part of my life. Even as an adult, I couldn't escape this fate—falls while riding an electric bike, injuries from being caught in doors, sprains and bumps while running, these accidents always came unexpectedly. What's more annoying is that I have a scar-prone physique, and even mosquito bites can leave scars for a month. In the summer, when I wear short-sleeved shirts and shorts, exposing my arms and legs, these scars break my heart.

The following is a set of steps I have put together to treat wounds. This method can not only help avoid infection but also speed up wound recovery and minimize scar formation. Now, I will share this method with you:

1. Thorough disinfection :

Use saline to rinse the dust on the surface of the wound, then use a cotton swab dipped in iodine to disinfect the wound in a circular motion from the inside to the outside, ensuring that the 3 cm area around the wound is thoroughly disinfected ( note that you need to change another cotton swab after each operation, and each operation should disinfect a smaller area than the previous one, and repeat three times ).

2. Promotes Wound Healing: Using Chinese medicine to promote wound healing and it also has antibacterial and anti-infection effects.

3. Importance of dressing :

Important things should be said three times: Use functional wound dressings. Silicone gel foam dressings are recommended. This is a dressing suitable for many types of wounds. It can not only help our wounds heal faster but also relieve wound pain. Be careful not to expose the wound to dust or accidentally touch it, which may cause the scab to crack or fall off prematurely. Cut the dressing into a shape larger than the wound and apply it to protect the wound.

4. Change of dressing:

Depending on the depth of the wound, pus (exudate) may flow out, and silicone gel foam dressings can effectively absorb these exudates. Change the dressing in time every day and repeat the previous steps. When there is a lot of exudate in the early stage, the dressing should be changed more frequently. As the wound heals, the exudate will gradually decrease until it stops, which indicates that the wound is healed. After tearing off the dressing, you will see brand-new skin and the possibility of scars is greatly reduced. In addition, silicone gel foam dressings are waterproof and do not affect bathing and daily contact with water. When changing the medicine, the dressing will not stick to the wound, avoiding the pain of tearing scabs or new muscles.

By following these golden rules, we can minimize the risk of wound infection, promote wound healing, and improve quality of life. The correct use of silicone gel foam dressings is an integral part of modern wound care, which protects the wound and provides us with a more comfortable and safe healing environment.
