Adhesion after double eyelid surgery is one of the complications that may occur during the recovery process of surgery. Under normal circumstances, our skin, muscles, fat, and other tissues are isolated from each other, and there is a sense of sliding and layering between them. However, when these soft tissues are damaged, abnormal adhesion between tissues may occur during the body's self-repair process. Please follow me to see how to properly care for yourself after surgery.
The first three days after surgery:
After the operation, try to rest as much as possible, do not overuse your eyes, and try to control your water intake during the day, drink less at night to prevent swelling, do not get wet within 48 hours, pay attention to sun protection and wear sunglasses and hats. For the first 4-6 hours after returning home, try to apply ice to the pillow in a high position (be sure to use sterile gauze, be careful! Do not get water on it) Apply ice for 20 minutes, rest for 40 minutes, it may be very painful after the anesthetic wears off, do not take painkillers unless necessary, rest more, and look at your phone less. After 24 hours, you can use a cotton swab dipped in saline to clean the wound secretions and blood scabs every morning and evening.
Four days after surgery:
You can wash your face with water but try not to use facial cleanser around your eyes. Be gentle when washing your face. Using force will pull the corners of your eyes, which is not conducive to recovery. It is recommended to clean the wound with saline after washing your face to prevent infection. Do eye-opening exercises, look up diagonally, rotate clockwise, rotate counterclockwise, but be careful not to raise your eyebrows or press them. Raising your eyebrows may pull apart adhesions and affect the formation of wrinkles. You can use silicone gel scar gel after falling asleep at night to fade scars and prevent scars from forming.
Dietary taboos:
The diet after surgery should be light, and spicy, irritating foods and hair-raising foods should be avoided to facilitate wound recovery. Meats such as seafood, beef, mutton, and fish, as well as vegetables such as green onions, garlic, leeks, onions, and eggs, and spicy seasonings should be avoided. Foods that help reduce swelling, such as winter melon, as well as chicken, pork, and non-irritating green vegetables, can be eaten, and the seasoning should be mainly salt.
Adhesion after double eyelid surgery requires careful care to prevent and treat. Proper postoperative care, appropriate exercise, reasonable diet adjustment, and the use of silicone gel scar dressings when necessary can help reduce the risk of adhesion and promote rapid recovery of the eye. If there are any abnormalities, consult a doctor in time.
