Many scars turn white in the later stages of healing. As time goes by, will the white scars recover on their own to be the same as normal skin tissue? Please follow me to take a look.
How do white scars occur?
White scars are usually formed because new flesh grows on the skin. After the dermis of the skin is damaged, there are a large number of melanocytes in the dermis, and abnormal secretion occurs. The local pigment cell secretion is reduced or missing, and the damaged area will become lighter in color, or even white. Therefore, this type of scar is also called "depigmented scar". Due to the reduction or loss of local pigment cell secretion, the color of the lesion area is lighter. Therefore, the phenomenon of white skin occurs.
Four treatment options :
1. Laser treatment:
Laser stimulates the proliferation and synthesis of melanocytes to promote the regeneration and distribution of pigments. At the same time, laser treatment can also promote the healing of local skin and improve the appearance of scars.
2. Chemical peel:
By using chemical substances such as fruit acid salicylic acid, the surface layer of the skin is exfoliated to promote metabolism and pigment regeneration.
3. Acupuncture treatment:
By stimulating micro-wounds on the skin surface, it promotes collagen production and skin repair.
4. Silicone gel scar dressing:
It promotes scar softening and flattening by providing a moist environment for the scar area. For white scars, which are usually mature and stable, silicone gel scar dressings can help improve the appearance of scars.
Scar removal tips:
Patients should also avoid eating spicy food, which may cause the wound to heal more slowly. You can eat more fresh fruits and vegetables and drink more warm water. Try to keep the wound clean.
Note: Do not scratch the wound with your hands to avoid secondary damage and inflammation.
