How to prevent acne scars?

Acne is a skin problem that many people will encounter during adolescence or even adulthood. Many people can't help but squeeze acne with their hands when facing it, but this practice is highly discouraged. In fact, even if the acne is accidentally broken during face washing, if it is not properly treated, it may to the formation of acne pits and acne scars.

Why do scabs cause acne scars?

Scabs may seem like a natural protective mechanism, but they can actually hinder the skin's healing process. Scabs occupy the surface of the skin, squeezing out healthy granulation tissue, preventing it from growing and repairing the skin surface normally, and eventually leading to the formation of acne pits. If scabs are removed prematurely, granulation tissue may be stimulated to overgrow, forming acne scars.

How can acne be treated correctly to prevent acne scars?

1. Drain moisture: When a pimple breaks, you should first use a clean tissue to gently drain the moisture and keep the wound dry.

2. Disinfection: Use iodine to simply disinfect the wound to prevent infection.

3. Apply Vaseline: Apply a layer of Vaseline on the broken area. Vaseline has good sealing properties and can form a protective film to promote self-repair of the skin.

4. Use an acne patch: Use an acne patch that is larger than the area of the wound to seal the wound. This will keep the wound moist while preventing external contamination.

Repeat the above steps over the next few days, and be careful not to let the wound come into contact with water. This treatment method is called "moist healing", which can promote the self-repair of the skin in a lubricated environment, reduce the formation of scabs, and thus reduce the risk of acne pits and acne scars.

What are the benefits of moist healing?

The use of moist healing methods can not only reduce the formation of acne pits and acne scars but also speed up the healing process of acne scars. This is because, in a moist environment, keratinocytes have stronger self-repair capabilities, and granulation tissue can grow better. Although moist healing is very effective for small wounds, if the injured area is large, it is recommended to go to a regular medical institution for treatment. When hospitals treat larger wounds, they also use a similar wet compress method, and the principle is the same. Through the correct treatment method, we can effectively prevent the formation of acne pits and acne scars and keep the skin healthy and smooth. I hope everyone can have healthy and beautiful skin.
