How to manage open wounds?

In life, we inevitably suffer from falls and abrasions due to various reasons, ranging from minor damage to the surface skin, or direct abrasion of the surface skin and bare muscle tissue. Whether light or heavy, the impact of abrasions on life should be paid enough attention to. If not handled properly, it can leave scars, affect the appearance, and even lead to infection. Many people have serious misunderstandings about the treatment of abrasions. This article will introduce to you how to properly deal with open wounds. Please come and take a look at it with me.

What is an open wound?

An open wound is an injury to the outside or inside of body tissue, and any wound that is exposed to the air is considered an open wound. Almost everyone has experienced an open wound. Most open wounds are minor, and there are several types of open wounds that can generally be treated at home, but it is still important to know the best way to clean and bandage wounds to ensure proper healing.

Are the types of open wounds?

There are different types of open wounds, depending on what causes them.

①Scratches :

When the skin is scratched or bruised by an object causing a break in the epidermis, the underlying layers of the skin or tissue may be exposed, making it an open wound. The characteristics of abrasions are that the surface of the skin is injured and there is a small amount of oozing blood. Abrasion is generally a very common trauma in children. General abrasions only cause epidermal peeling damage, but the dermis is no problem. When the abrasion area is large, there will be blood oozing, but not a lot.

Response: For abrasions and wounds with a small area of epidermal damage, it is recommended to disinfect the local injury site with an iodophor cotton swab, and then use Longterm Medical Hydrocolloid Dressing, which can provide the wound with a slightly acid, airtight, and moist healing environment and is waterproof. It can prevent the invasion of foreign microorganisms, reduce the incidence of bacterial infection, and promote wound healing, but it should be noted that if your wound is caused by rusty instruments or animal bites, please go to the hospital in time to ask a doctor to find out if you need antibiotics or a tetanus vaccine.

②Cut wound:

Cut wounds are caused by slicing the skin with a sharp object, but unlike surgical incisions, these wounds are often jagged and irregular in shape. Cuts can penetrate deep into soft tissue, so controlling bleeding is often the first step in treating such wounds. Once the bleeding stops, these wounds can be cleaned and bandaged, but stitches or other types of wound closures may be needed to stop the bleeding.

response:

1. Hemostasis: The treatment of lacerations usually depends on the depth of the incision. Generally, the bleeding is stopped first, and a sterile bandage is used to quickly stop the bleeding. If the wound is too deep, go to the hospital for a surgical suture in time.

2. Cleaning: Rinse with water or saline to prevent infection, and dry immediately.

3. With Longterm Medical Wound Skin Closure, accelerates wound healing and reduces scarring.

4. Use Longterm Medical Hydrolloid Dressing again, covering the wound to prevent wound infection.

5. Then use Longterm Medical Elastic Bandage Self Adhesive to apply appropriate pressure to the wound

6. Finally, Longterm Medical Silicone Scar Dressing can be used after the wound has healed to prevent scarring and reduce scarring.

③Stab wound :

Skin is caused by sharp objects such as fishbone sawdust. These wounds may appear closed at first and usually don't bleed much. However, the wound can still be open to the air and let in bacteria and debris. These wounds are prone to infection if not properly cleaned and cared for.

response:

For such small wounds, it is usually necessary to observe the wound and other debris to ensure that there is no foreign body in the wound. Such wounds can then be simply disinfected, and then applied with Longterm Medical Hydrolloid Dressing to accelerate the healing of the wound.
