User Guide For Two-piece Ostomy Pouch
1. Clean the skin around the stoma with tepid water or normal saline from inside to outside, and dry it.
2. Cut the hole on the skin barrier according to the actual size and shape of the stoma.
3. To prevent the outflow of excreta during sticking, a gauze pad can be temporarily applied on the stoma.
4. Peel off protective release paper from skin barrier, hold the skin barrier with both hands to put it on the hole cut out at the stoma and press it from bottom up to make it completely conglutinate with the skin. It is suggested to press it evenly for several minutes to strengthen adhesion ability.
5. After sticking the skin barrier, put the plastic ring on the skin barrier ring, and press the ring with figures from the bottom up. Slight sound of "click" shall be heard to confirm that the pouch has been connected with the skin barrier successfully. And pull the pouch to check whether it is a secure connection.
6. When removing the pouch, pinch the wing on the connecting ring and pull the pouch away from the skin barrier.
7. When peeling the skin barrier, press the skin with one hand and remove the skin barrier slowly with the other hand. To avoid skin damage, it is forbidden to peel the skin barrier ruggedly. Tepid water can be applied for a few minutes in case of hard peeling.
Caution
1. Before sticking the hydrocolloid skin barrier, the skin around the stoma should be clean and dry, and a standing or lying position is recommended to keeρ the skin flat. It is better to press for several minutes evenly after sticking to enhance the adhesive ability.
2. Please shave the body hair if there is too much around the stoma, otherwise, the adhesive ability could be affected or folliculitis may occur.
3. Please clean the stoma from inside to outside with tepid water instead of disinfectant, soap or oiliness detergent.
4. Please be noted, the hole of the skin barrier should be 1-1.5 mm larger than the stoma, or else, mucosal bleeding or skin maceration irritation could be caused easily.
5. If there is swelling for the ostomy pouch frequently, it indicates that there is too much intestinal gas or inefficient gas exhausting. Please make a few small pinholes on the inside of the pouch for adding activated carbon filter.
6. The ostomy bag shall be stored in a dry room at the temperature of 15 - 250 instead of moist room at high temperature (≥400) nor low-temperature facilities such as refrigerator.
7. After use, the ostomy pouch shall be wrapped in a clean pouch and put into a trash can. The pouch shall not be thrown into the toilet to avoid sewer blocking.
