Misunderstandings in the Care of Cystic Acne

Acne is a skin problem that makes people feel very troubled, especially cystic acne, which makes people feel helpless. Among the many care methods, acne patches are popular because of their convenience. However, for cystic acne, acne patches may not be the choice. Let's follow me to see why cystic acne is not suitable for acne patches.

cystic acne?

Cystic acne, medically known as acne cysts, is a deeper inflammatory acne. They usually appear as redness and swelling deep in the skin, are painful to touch, and are prone to leaving scars. The formation of cystic acne is related to factors such as excessive skin oil secretion, keratin blockage in hair follicles, and bacterial infection.

What is the function of acne patches?

Acne patches are a type of hydrocolloid dressing that absorbs pus in acne, protects wounds, prevents bacterial infection, and promotes healing. However, acne patches are more suitable for mature acne with pus heads. For cystic acne, due to its deep inflammation and large size, acne patches may not provide sufficient absorption capacity and treatment effect.

Why can't cystic acne be treated with patches?

The inflammation of cystic acne occurs in the deeper layer of the skin, and the acne patch may not be able to reach the core area of inflammation. Since the amount of pus in cystic acne may be large, the acne patch may not be able to fully absorb it. If the acne patch cannot fully absorb the pus, it may increase local pressure and aggravate inflammation.

How to properly care for cystic acne:

For cystic acne, try to go to the hospital and listen to the doctor's advice. For daily care at home, you can use mild cleansing products to avoid irritating the skin and aggravating inflammation. Remember not to squeeze cystic acne by yourself to avoid infection and scarring. Reduce the intake of high-sugar and high-fat foods and eat more foods rich in vitamins and minerals. Get enough sleep and reduce stress to help the skin repair itself.

Although acne patches are convenient, they may not be the  choice for cystic acne. Proper care methods and professional treatment are the key to solving cystic acne. Remember, patience and scientific methods are essential when facing acne problems.
