What are the symptoms of scar hyperplasia?

Scar hyperplasia not only affects our appearance but is also accompanied by itching and tingling. In order to improve scar hyperplasia, we can understand the manifestations of scar hyperplasia.

The main manifestations of scar hyperplasia:

1. The color turns red

A notable feature of scar hyperplasia is the color change of the scar surface. Under normal circumstances, the color of the scar should be similar to the surrounding skin, but in the case of hyperplasia, the scar surface may appear red or dark red, forming a sharp contrast with the surrounding skin. This color change is mainly caused by the formation of new blood vessels.

2. Texture becomes hard

In addition to color changes, another obvious feature of hypertrophic scars is the hardening of the scar's texture. Compared to normal skin, hypertrophic scars feel harder and sometimes even appear nodular. This change in texture is mainly due to the excessive proliferation of collagen in the scar tissue. Collagen is one of the main components of the skin, but in the case of hypertrophic scars, the balance of its synthesis and decomposition is broken, resulting in excessive deposition of collagen, which makes the scar hard.

3. Itching and stinging

Growing scars can be accompanied by itching and stinging, as the tension created during the growth process can be painful.

4. Shape change bulge

Generally, it bulges during the recovery process, and its shape may gradually diffuse or widen from the original line or point.

How to improve scar hyperplasia?

Saline:

Twice a day, gently wipe the scarred area with saline solution to clean the surface bacteria.

Silicone Gel:

Apply it three times a day, apply thickly, and massage until absorbed. This can reduce scars and hyperplastic bulges, and the effect can be seen in three months. Silicone gel scar dressing can fit the surface of the scar, forming a protective film, reducing water loss, and promoting scar softening. At the same time, silicone gel dressing can also reduce the itching and pain of scars and improve the quality of life of patients.

Erythromycin ointment:

Wounds can easily become inflamed if not treated properly. Apply it twice a day to prevent infection and relieve itching.

Tips:

During the period of scar hyperplasia, we also need to pay attention to some matters. The diet should be as light as possible, and spicy and irritating foods should be avoided. At the same time, tobacco and alcohol should be avoided. When scar hyperplasia is accompanied by itching, remember not to scratch it with your hands, but you can gently pat it with your hands to stop the itching. In addition, sun protection is also essential to avoid leaving pigmentation.
