What should you do if your baby falls and gets scratched?

In daily life, babies are bound to get hurt and bruised because of their activeness. New parents, facing such emergencies, often feel at a loss. So, how should we deal with babies' falls and bruises correctly? Today, we will answer this question in detail to help new parents better deal with their babies' accidental injuries.

Steps to deal with injuries after falls:

When a baby falls and gets bruised, parents should check the baby's injury immediately to confirm the depth and area of the wound and whether there is bleeding or swelling. If the wound is shallow and just a superficial abrasion, rinse the wound with normal saline, then disinfect it with iodine tincture from the inside out in a circular motion, repeat 2-3 times to remove dirt and bacteria. Be gentle when washing to avoid aggravating the baby's pain. Then apply a silicone gel band-aid dressing to the wound, which can provide a slightly acidic enclosed space that is conducive to healing, prevent the invasion of foreign microorganisms, reduce the chance of infection, and will not cause pain to the baby when changing the dressing. It is very gentle and easy to use. It contains silicone ingredients that can inhibit the proliferation of fibroblasts and capillaries, thereby preventing the formation of scars.

Tips for wound care:

1. Pay attention to your diet while your wound is healing and avoid spicy or irritating foods.

2. Change the gauze or bandage regularly to keep the wound clean.

3. Avoid using highly irritating disinfectants or ointments to avoid adding burden to your baby's skin.

4. Do not use alcohol on wounds as it will irritate them and prolong their healing process.

When a baby falls and gets bruised, parents should stay calm and treat the wound correctly. In daily life, we should also strengthen the baby's safety education to prevent accidents.
