How to disinfect daily wounds?

In daily life, we will inevitably encounter various accidental injuries. Whether it is cuts, abrasions, tears, or burns, we need to clean and disinfect the wounds in time to prevent them from affecting the healing of the wounds. Not all wounds are suitable for self-care. In certain situations, such as if the wound continues to bleed, if the injured person is less than one year old, if the wound is jagged or deep under the skin if it was pierced by a fast-moving object or projectile, if the wound is above a joint, on the face or perineal area, or if the wound is caused by human or animal bites, you need to seek professional medical help. Below, I will introduce in detail the correct steps for daily care of small wounds.

Preliminary preparation:

Always wash your hands and clean them thoroughly with water and soap before cleaning the wound.

Prepare materials:

Disposable gloves, iodophor cotton balls, hydrocolloid dressings, sterile dry cotton balls, self-adhesive bandages, Alginate Dressing Flakiness

If the wound bleeds, we need to take off or cut off the clothes covering the wound first, and then apply gentle pressure with Alginate Dressing Flakiness until the blood begins to subside. The ingredient of Alginate Dressing Flakiness is alginate, which is a natural polysaccharide carbohydrate extracted from seaweed and a natural fiber. It can provide a moist environment for the wound, promote wound healing, and relieve wound pain. The calcium ions in the dressing are released into the wound and can also induce platelet activation and the production of blood growth factors to stop bleeding and accelerate wound healing.

Clean and disinfect wounds :

For wounds with a lot of pollutants, we need to clean them first, wash them with tap water for 2-3 minutes, use sterile dry cotton balls to wipe the wounds, and then use iodophor cotton swabs to disinfect the wounds. Take two iodophor cotton swabs. If they are clean For wounds, pay attention to disinfection techniques. The first point is to disinfect from the outside to the inside, with a range of 10 cm. Do not disinfect back and forth. If it is a contaminated wound, disinfect it from the inside to the outside of the wound, with a disinfection range of 10 cm. Point 2: After disinfection is completed and the iodophor is dried, disinfection can be carried out two more times to consolidate the disinfection effect. Point 3: After disinfection, a dressing can be applied to the area.

Apply dressing:

We can determine which type of wound dressing to use by observing the absorption of wound exudate and changes in blood volume. Pay attention to the replacement time of the dressing after pasting it. If the following conditions occur, we need to seek professional help: the wound or surrounding area becomes red or Swollen; you have a fever or chills; pain does not go away or gets worse; the wound or its edges feel warm; or you smell a foul odor.
