What should I do if the bedsore has a long sinus?

Generally, patients with bedsores often cause some difficult diseases in the daily nursing process, such as cavitary bedsores and sinus-type bedsores. This column will explain to you how to deal with bedsores with long sinuses?

Causes of long sinus tracts in pressure ulcer

The nursing of bedsore patients is not in place, the scab on the wound surface is not cleaned, the exudate is not wiped in time, and the wound surface continues to be under pressure, resulting in the exudate flowing down, infecting the deep tissue, and the ulcer forming a slender hole-shaped wound surface. It is the sinus tract of the bedsore.

Dangers of Sinus

If sinus tracts are formed on bedsore wounds, this is a very troublesome thing. Generally, sinus tract wounds are not easy to treat, the exudate is not easy to clean up, and the toxins are easy to continue to infect, causing deeper ulcers, and even bone infection, causing Systemic infection, causing sepsis.

Treatment of decubitus sinus

Step 1: First, observe the wound in the sinus tract. If there is ulcer tissue, first clean the ulcer tissue.
Step 2: Fill the alginate dressing into the hole to fully absorb the exudate in the wound.
Step 3: Cover the wound with a foam dressing product to keep the wound closed.

Nursing:

· Clean up the wound to avoid pressure on the wound.
· The patient is supplemented with protein and vitamins.
· Keep the indoor air circulation and hygiene clean, and dry the bedding frequently to keep it dry.
· Pay attention to turning the patient over to avoid prolonged pressure on other parts of the body.

For pressure ulcer, prevention is always better than cure.
